Thanksgiving 1
Remember that shopping trip that was so disastrous? Well, when we went back out it was sooo much better. The day was the Friday before Turkey day and we must have gone through four or five stores. I had a list and coupons and was ready for anything. I even stopped to think first before shouting off about things that make me want to choke people. Thank you ,thank you thank you for understanding my process.

I made it through Thanksgiving and always there is the what I would have done differently phase but as I sit here enjoying my Turkey Pot Pie I can honestly say "Ah". I'll write the post mortem later this week.

Letting Go
What is it about the first time your child has an accident away from home and you panic. Sheer panic, dread, helplessness. Actually, I knew this time was coming. I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I just knew, I just knew, I just knew. In the details of this knowing the youngest child was in a car accident in Los Angeles. Front end of the car is damaged. Dad is upset about his insurance. But he is OK. What is not OK was feeling there was absolutely nothing I could do. No rescue, no advice, no taking control. Panic, dread, helplessness. It was amazing. We were in the grocery store(doing that holiday shopping thing) I'm down one aisle hes down another. I find what I'm looking for and go searching for him. I come upon him and hes on the phone with not a good facial expression. Now this could be about anything from a client to a relative. But getting closer and listening i realize this is about one of the children. I hear accident. Its the young one(hes the one with the car) My breath is in my throat. My heart beat stopped, my eyes were tearing up. Stop this. You don't even know. But everytime I looked at Dad. I couldn't could even think. Turn around silly, get it together. I do that. I count and realize this is part of letting go and letting life happen to everyone in my family without me. Calm, resolve, peacefulness. I still was a little scared but all turned out well.

Starting the Thanksgiving Ritual
I went shopping yesterday. No, we went shopping. What is it about shopping with your partner for the holiday provisions and it ends up a cause for fighting rounds. The agitation not fight was over when was the best day to come because the traffic would be different and the shelves would be better stocked. See I don't drive(that's a conversation for another day) and when i was living in Philly I would do the bulk of it on my own. Here, I'm still not familiar with the store layout, I'm price comparison and coupon matching and you really don't want to hear "What you looking for?" and "I don't like shopping today because the shelves are picked bare." You know those termites. So I breathe and count to ten and breathe and count some more and remind myself this is your overreaction. I pulled myself together and almost made it through the store but i got annoyed. Why are all you people in the store. Isn't there a Redskins game. Go home people!(love me some Eagle seven though they really, really messed up in that game with the Bengals.) See look at me transferring to Redskins fans. So whats really bothering me. I feel out of place. Dependant. ill at ease. But, Thanksgiving dinner goes forward. I have people coming and I want those ingredients. Hopefully, I will have the rest of the items by Friday and the cooking will commence. We'll deal with my feelings later. Gotta go plan my next shopping trip. It will be better and on the appropriate day. Ha!

Rainy Saturday
It is a rainy day. Almost tropical like here in Maryland. I am still getting use to the change in weather. Should I do work around the house meaning continuing to integrate my stuff with the present stuff or what? Or just......
